Nathalie Emmanuel was born on Southend-on-Sea situated in Essex, England to parents from Saint Lucian, English and Dominican descendance. Nathalie says that her mother was the first person to incite her desire for a career acting. In the age of 10 she portrayed Young Nala on The Lion King, a West End production of The Lion King. Sasha Valentine was her first Television role. She was in Hollyoaks which was a 1995 teenage soap-opera. It premiered on TV in the year 2006. Emmanuel was the main Hollyoaks character until 2010. Her character had stories about prostitution and heroin addiction. Nathalie hosts BBC Three's Web-sex : What's The Risk? which investigated the online sexual behaviours of UK 16-24-year-olds. She made her debut as film actor in the crime thriller Twenty8 at the end of that year. In 2011, she played Missandei in HBO's fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. Emmanuel was added to the main cast in the year 2015. In addition, she was Harriet, a character from the science-fiction genre on Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. FHM magazine put Emmanuel as 99th on its 100 Sexiest Females in 2013. In Style magazine and GQ featured her in their Issues of April and May 2015.
